Who We Are
Through this website you can learn all about what Good Earth @ Summerside represents from the intro on our Home Page, our Menu Page, and who we support. Another piece of this story is that Good Earth @ Summerside is locally owned and operated by Dustin, Diane and Andre Leclerc. Since this is a family business, Good Earth @ Summerside really represents who we are. So if you want to learn a little more about us feel free to continue reading!
Dustin
Dustin’s lives for adventure and the outdoors, spending nearly all his free time Mountain Biking, with a hiking pack on his back, or searching out fresh lines skiing. He’s always trying to get the most out of everyday.
When he’s not chasing adventure or training for the next one, you’ll usually find him somewhere cozy reading a book about environmental responsibility (he has a strong desire to preserve the places he loves to play in), world issues or stories of adventure. Travel is also an important interest of Dustin’s. Having lived in Norway he gained a chance to explore some of Europe, but now his must-see list includes places like Peru, Argentina, Nepal, Tibet and South Africa high on the list.
His love of coffee is definitely bordering on addict
ion. Let’s not kid ourselves; when you start with either a Dark South American Rainforest Blend or our Feature Roast depending on the day, then follow it up with a Large Americano before and after lunch, and end your day off with a Decaf Cappuccino. Dustin looks forward to seeing you and chatting about nearly anything from adventure, to travel and world issues. Just look for a black bicycle parked out front on a sunny day and you’ll know he’s there.

Diane
Diane’s love for sweets will undoubtedly make this a dangerous place for her to work. She has beyond question one of the warmest hearts around, as she’s always putting others before her. She loves to chat once you get her going, so be careful! Being born and having spent the majority of her life in a small community in Northern Ontario, her value of strong community is a large part of what we strive for with our cafe. She wants to fill a void often lacking in North America’s cities of today: creating a place reminiscent of home, where whenever you come in you know you’re in your home community as you are greeted by a smile and surrounded by people who genuinely care about how your day is going or are excited about the good news you can’t wait to share.
Diane has a love for music and food which will certainly make her at home in the cafe, reminding her of nights spent visiting the multitude of relatives in rooms filled with the smells of fresh baked goods and homemade soups. And finally an eye for style and fashion means you’ll find her flair in various places around the cafe. Oh wait! We can’t forget warm weather! If she could only move the cafe to a beach-side location in Hawaii she’d be set, so look for a bigger smile on warm days. Not as big a coffee drinker as some, you’ll see her outside sipping one of our Strawberry Banana Smoothies and giving into that chocolate craving by savoring a brownie or our chocolate cake.
Andre
OOhhhh, the BOSS is COMMING!!!! is the opening line to one of the Arkell’s hits songs, and thankfully Andre doesn’t convey that personality. Andre loves to be social and fits the social butterfly bill well. However he is a tough looking butterfly, and saying he can be a “little” Cheeky is a bit of an understatement. So don’t be offended if he’s trying to pull your leg or push your buttons, it’s always in good fun.
His first love is undoubtedly his family, but next to that you’ll usually find him riding, polishing, or shopping for gifts for his motorcycle. With many years of experience working in logging and oil, he’s excited to be involved in a business that’s giving back instead of taking away. In addition to providing that social environment to others, he so often enjoys meeting and having coffee with friends.Like Dustin, Andre is a long time coffee drinker and goes through multiple cups of our Latin American Blend. At night you’ll find him gorging himself on Carrot Cake, Brownies, Cookies or something else delicious!
